CSG Captures Virtualization to Support Channel in the Cloud

Channel Services Group (CSG), the leading provider of marketing and channel sales, has successfully completed the Microsoft Virtualization Competency within the Microsoft Partner Network. The Microsoft certification demonstrates CSG expertise in the virtualization environment with completion of Microsoft test courses and development in cloud computing servers.

“CSG is on the cutting edge of new technology for the small and medium business sector,” James Crivellone, Director of Information Technology said. “Virtualization and cloud computing is going to make tremendous progress in the upcoming years and with this certification, we are able to better serve client and customer needs.”

CSG has been using virtualization technology for the past two years, but became more serious about virtualization this year by building and maintaining a private cloud. CSG’s private cloud hosts 115 virtualization servers in a Tacoma, Wash., data center and manages BLUEROADS production and testing cluster in addition to daily business and sharepoint operations. The virtualization solution utilizes Windows Server 2008, Hyper-V technology and Microsoft’s virtual machine infrastructure.

With the virtualization competency, CSG has access to 400 license grants for Microsoft technologies, tools and training for virtualization security and unlimited technical support services for Microsoft products. CSG also hopes with the certification, the company will be a resource to provide insight of requirements, tools and current Microsoft technologies to help other channel partners with the virtualization certification process.

In addition to the Virtualization competency, CSG also acquired the ISV certification in June 2010, upon completion of a built internal referral tool using Microsoft technology. CSG hopes to continue attaining certifications to better assist partners within the channel.
